Spiritual Design Lab

Matter Selected Like Pigment

Lapis #3E5A7E Planned

The curated library of materials, furniture and suppliers, and the bench where the next ones are grown.

Lapis lazuli travelled further than gold. Ground into ultramarine, it became the pigment a painter saved for the one passage that mattered, the robe of a central figure, the initial that opened a manuscript. In Egypt and Mesopotamia the same stone was cut into amulets of wisdom. It is the stone of what has been chosen, of material knowledge kept like treasure. A library of materials is that instinct applied to a floor tile and a mortar.

E-Commerce and Specification

Specification Sheet and Shopping Cart

The Lab is a technical and commercial platform at once. The same page that sells a lime plaster carries its emissions data, its origin and the detail a specifier needs to write it into a drawing set. Archiproducts is the closest reference for how it will read.

Phase one of the e-commerce opens in 2027.

Professionals

Architects, interior designers and contractors who need the technical sheet before the price. Specification data, certificates and supplier contact sit on the product page, not at the end of an email thread.

Creatives

Makers, stylists and small studios sourcing one material for one piece. Short runs, suppliers with names, no minimum order buried in a PDF.

Everyone Else

Someone repainting a single bedroom gets the same information as a developer specifying forty units. The catalogue has no second tier of reader.

Categorization

Five Filters, No Exceptions

What the Lab sells is the filter. The catalogue is what the filter leaves standing. Every listing is read against five criteria, each one declared on the product page with the evidence behind it. A material that fails a criterion is not softened with an adjective, it stays out.

01 · Vegan and Cruelty Free

No animal-derived binder, glue, wax or textile, and no animal testing at any point in the supply chain. Declared for the finished product and for whatever holds it together.

02 · Sustainable, Carbon Neutral, Low Footprint

Emissions measured across extraction, transport and manufacture, with the figure published. Carbon neutral means offset and documented, never implied by a green label.

03 · Regenerative

Mycelium, lime and clay. Materials that are grown, that reabsorb carbon while they cure, or that return to the ground leaving nothing behind. This tier belongs to what improves the ground it came from.

04 · Fair Trade and Ancestral Communities

Workshops and cooperatives named, paid on published terms. Where a technique belongs to a community, that community is credited, paid and ordered from, rather than copied.

05 · Zero VOC and Microplastic Free

No volatile organic compounds off-gassing into a bedroom, no microplastic shedding from a rug or a coating. This is Iron Limit 1 applied product by product.

For Allied Brands

What a Brand Receives

Clearing the five criteria puts a brand in the catalogue. What follows is the rest of the ecosystem, and the seal of approval travels with the material.

Direct Sale and the Seal

Sell through the e-commerce and carry the seal of approval on your own material. The seal states which of the five criteria the product cleared and on what evidence.

Two Annual Events

Presence at two large scale events a year, where the catalogue stops being a screen and the material is handled by the people who specify it.

Showroom and Retreats

A showroom experience, plus participation in international retreats and the Full Day Retreats in Miami. Your material spends a full day with the people who will place it.

Directory and Curation

Access to the professional directory, inclusion in curated selections, and ambassadorships with figures of the brand such as Jesús Pacheco.

How Alliances Work

Bio-Lab, Research and Development

Growing the Next Material

The Lab selects what already exists. The Bio-Lab works on what does not yet. It is the research arm of the pillar, and its three open lines all point at the same question: can a material be produced without leaving damage behind it?

  • Biomaterials, judged by what they release as much as by what they resist.
  • Mycelium insulation, grown in a mould instead of extruded in a plant.
  • Ecological mortars built on lime and earth in place of Portland cement.

Iron Limit 1

Living Matter, Biological Health

We will not specify, certify or sell a material carrying toxic VOCs, microplastics or unmitigated electromagnetic radiation.

This is the limit that decides the catalogue. The other four criteria sort materials into tiers. This one removes them. It sits above commercial interest, and it does not bend because a supplier is large.
