Macarena's Room

A child's room built around one geometric motif and one hand. The interlocking circle pattern repeats across the cornice band, the cushion, the lamp shade and the hamper, in plum, mauve and taupe against cream. Below the window line a botanical mural is painted directly onto the wall, irises rising out of grass, so the room keeps growing where the furniture stops. A tufted nursing chair and its ottoman hold the corner, with roman blinds filtering the light onto parquet and a deep cream rug.
